Equipment Share Program
The Whatcom Conservation District is dedicated to helping Whatcom County farmers to overcome barriers & support local agriculture. As part of this goal we have launched an equipment share program & it currently includes a manure spreader, no-till seed drill, & poultry processing equipment.
Equipment Availability
The pick up time you select is specific. If you are over 30 minutes late to your pick up you will forfeit your rental.
Biosecurity is of critical importance; to keep this equipment accessible, please return all equipment clean and sanitized
Rent The Manure Spreader
(March 1 to October 15), $75/4 day use (plus tax)
WCD has a 2.5 cubic yard, ground driven solids spreader (Wallenstein MX25) available for rent to Whatcom County residents.
Pick up is Monday or Thursday, with a 30 minute pick up window between 12-4pm.
Returns are the following Monday or Thursday between 8am-12pm, with a 30 minute drop off window.

If pick up from our office is a hardship, please discuss with your WCD planner at the time of rental.
To borrow the manure spreader, please look at the calendar for available dates and submit a reservation request below.
Within 48 hours before application, you are required to fill out the Manure Application Risk Management (ARM) worksheet. to evaluate the site-specific risk of manure running into surface water. Once your reservation is confirmed, a Farm Planner can work with you to understand this requirement.
Rent Poultry Processing Equipment
(Year-round) $25/day, $50/weekend (plus tax)
Whatcom Conservation District provides low-cost rental of equipment for small-scale producers to safely process poultry for home consumption, or to slaughter poultry for direct marketing with a WSDA permit. This equipment is for loan to residents in Whatcom County only.
Poultry Processing Equipment is available for pick up and drop off at the WCD office Monday through Friday. Pick up and drop off is scheduled with 30 minute windows between 8:00am and 3:00pm.
The pick up and drop off times you select are specific; if you are more than 30 minutes late to your pickup you will forfeit your rental.
Unit 1: Enclosed in trailer, you tow
Unit 2: No trailer, you load and haul in your own vehicle

You Provide: Electric cords, propane to heat scalder, hoses, knives, chill tanks and scrubbing brushes for clean up. For a video of washing the equipment, please scroll to the bottom of this page. Compact No-Till Seed Drill
$80/4 day use (plus tax)
Whatcom CD has a Woods CSS48 No-Till Seed Drill with a 4' seeding width available to residents of Whatcom County.
To reserve, schedule pick up on a Monday or Thursday, choosing a 30 minute window between 12pm-4pm.
Schedule your return the following Monday or Thursday between 8am-12pm, choosing a 30 minute window.
