Columbia Valley Roving Chipper Week
September 30th – October 4th, 2019
This time the chipper is coming to you!
All Columbia Valley residents are invited to participate in this free chipping week! Cleaning up tree limbs and brush around your home helps reduce your wildfire risk. Dead branches and limbs dry out quickly in the summer and can easily ignite and spread fire given the right circumstances.
The chipper will come around through neighborhoods where there are participating residents and chip up piles that have been dragged to the end of the driveway and are stacked according to details specified below.
Stacking and sizing specification for chipping piles:
• No limbs or brush larger than 6” diameter
• Limbs and brush only – no rootwads, stumps, lawn clippings, raked leaves, trash or non-woody debris.
• Everything must be stacked pointing the same direction – tangled piles will not be chipped
Registration is required to participate. Additional details will be provided at the time of registration.
To register, please contact Rebecca Cayen at 360-510-3137 or ColumbiaValleyWA@gmail.com
Deadline to register is Friday, September 20th. First come, first served!
If you need assistance cleaning up limbs around your property, there will be volunteers available to help. Please let Rebecca know when you register.
